These cakes crack me up!  I think I got carried away.  I always talk about proportion and scale and here I chose flowers that were either way too big for the cakes or cut the flowers way too long.
Lessons learned:
  1. Double layer cakes look better with flowers.
  2. Single layer cakes should be decorated with smaller, lower profile flowers such as Pansies, Daisies or small Roses.
  3. Remember, no matter how imperfect your flower arranging skills may be, it's about having fun, doing something fresh and new and making those around you feel that you care about them.
  4. You can always eat your experiments.
