Kathleen's Cakes

Sharing my experience of attending the French Pastry School while managing CakeVase, my life, family and friends.

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

Kelly and Julia took a cake decorating class in my professional cake kitchen in our basement.  I baked two 2-layer cakes for each of them.  They filled, crumb coated, frosted, piped leaf borders, inserted CakeVase® and used flowers to finish their own centerpiece cakes.
I will be teaching a class this fall at    www.circleoffriendsfolkschool.net
in Lake Mills, Wisconsin.  It's a girl's weekend getaway in a B&B environment.  Learn, in a relaxed and  supportive environment, how to make your homemade cakes clean and pretty.
Feel confident using a bent palette knife to smoothly frost your cakes, fill and hold a pastry bag properly and  demystify the process.
I will share all of my knowledge and secrets for easy, fast results!  This class is designed to highlight your intuitive skills and prior abilities.  How fun to get away with friends or family to relax, laugh and learn an old fashioned skill and you can eat the mistakes!
Meanwhile, if you have any questions or need resources to become a better home cake decorator, feel free to email me anytime.
