This was my father-in-law's 51st birthday (not the candles). I baked a carrot cake and purchased the sugar carrots from Trigg's Grocery in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. They were a little confused at the bakery counter but agreed to sell me a few carrots. I am still shocked at how excited I was with my creative baby steps.
In this photo I see a cake that was stacked, filled, frosted and coordinated.
Al passed away two years after this birthday. We miss him severely and talk about him often. He was our greatest cheerleader.
